Rogue “American Amber Ale”

Posted: May 23, 2011 in Amber

Rogue has a philosophy “variety is the spice of life”.  This mentality shows in their beers.  They have produced over 60 different ales over the years, and have even branched in to distilling spirits.  I have never been disappointed with any of their product.  This Amber is no different.  I sometimes have trouble with amber ales.  The are good, but sometimes the maltiness and the bitterness isn’t very good together.  I personally think amber beers are not a beer to sit and drink a lot of.  I can usually only have a few.  The Rogue is different.  I don’t get that full feeling, or the weird taste in the back of your throat after a few.  This brew is an classic example of what can happen when a company has only a few goals; one of them being making an excellent product, and none being making money.  When the day is over if you work to make a product you are proud of people will recognize it and you will get paid.  I can’t wait to try more of Rogues beers, each one seems to be better than the last.  And I can’t wait to see what they devise in the future.
